Pronouns: she/her

Katie is a dedicated Paediatric Physiotherapist with a deep commitment to supporting children of all ages living with hypermobility and invisible illnesses.

As a Director of Ocean Kids Health, a private allied health service supporting children across Victoria, Katie brings a wealth of experience, including an APA Title in Paediatric Physiotherapy. Her personal experience with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) receiving a diagnosis at age 25, has given her a unique perspective and understanding of the challenges faced by children and adolescents with hypermobility. Katie learnt about hypermobility in her early career at Dance Medicine Australia, where she worked with young dancers and athletes with hypermobility with complex needs. Over the past 15 years, she has worked closely with families, babies, children, and adolescents living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and HSD, offering both individual and group therapy across public and private settings.

Katie is passionate about raising awareness and improving care for children living with invisible illnesses. In 2022, she joined the Paediatric Working Group with the International EDS Consortium to advocate for better care, recognition, and quality of life for these children and families. Her interest in early diagnosis led her to contribute to the development of the 2023 International Diagnostic Criteria for Paediatric Joint Hypermobility. Katie also enjoys sharing her knowledge with others, having lectured for national bodies such as the Australian Physiotherapy Association and Exercise and Sport Science Australia, as well as presenting at the EDS Global Learning Conference in Brisbane in 2025. Katie also provides external mentoring to Allied Health Professionals in Paediatric Physiotherapy.

At Ocean Kids Health, Katie and her team are dedicated to offering tailored support to babies, toddlers and children with hypermobility and many more conditions. The services provided include comprehensive physical assessment, diagnosis, and a range of interventions, such as Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Hydrotherapy, Group Therapy, Telehealth, and more, all aimed at helping children thrive.
